My FUNiture Story (MFS) is a child-centric design studio that believes thoughtfully designed environments can positively influence how children learn, behave, and grow.
Since 2015, we have partnered with schools across India to create integrated learning environments where architecture, interiors, furniture, and child development come together to create meaningful educational experiences.

From a Parent's Love to a School's Solution
MFS was launchedi n 2015 as a specialised design studio designing for children.
As a new parent, while also being a trained architect, I started my design journey in the niche area of children, when my daughter was born in 2014.
With my training as a furniture designer in Florence and the exciting exposure to Italian design, I started with designing furniture for children.
With deep roots in Indian tradition, I explored Indian craft forms incorporating Channapatna craft forms, grass weaving from different pockets and hand skills in carpentry too!
Over the years, as we evolved, we continue to adapt , to learn and to grow!
We started offering custom design services for projects again in 2020.
In 2024, I also further upskilled to complete my Masters in Designing for Kids and toys from Politecnico Di Milano, in Milan.
Taking the best of my experiences in different parts of the world, meeting experts and mentors, MFS has continued to mould its journey while always treading on the path of commitment and excellence.
Today, with a growing team, we move ahead as global citizens designing for our children adapting to their age, context, learning style. We truly believe that customising to different contexts allows us to create something exciting, innovative and truly suitable for each vision. We are committed to bringing this vision to life, as a shared journey and a shared commitment!

At My FUNiture Story, the core principle of our design philosophy starts by placing the child at the centre. Through a process of Co-Design, involving different stakeholders , we create a customised experience which reflects the story of the school.
With our experience and skills as designers, we co create with educators to enhance the developmental goals for all the users.
Our open ended design elements allow for easy adaptability, long term use and flexibility of purpose.
Each project is complete with a new relationship enforced and a shared vision come to life!
It Started with One Mother's Question
When Architect Medha Jalan became a mother, she began looking at children's spaces through a completely different lens.
Despite having specialised in designing for children and toys, she found that most children's furniture was simply a scaled-down version of adult furniture. More importantly, she realised that learning environments were often designed around buildings not around children.
That insight became the foundation of My FUNiture Story.
Founded in 2015, MFS was born from the belief that every classroom, every reading corner & every learning space has the potential to support curiosity, independence, creativity & development.
Today, Medha leads a multidisciplinary team that collaborates with educators, school founders, curriculum specialists & designers to create learning environments where children don't just study they thrive.
